Zao-onsen 1 ― 2011/02/19

I went skiing on Zao-onsen after not having been there for 20 years.

When I went there before, there was a blizzard, and my ears were frostbitten.

But this time, the weather was fine, and we enjoyed skiing and the sunset very much.

We were able to see the “big monsters” (trees covered with hoarfrost) in full sunlight. Because there has been a lot of snow this year, we were very lucky!

We took some pictures with a Jizo (a bodhisattva) sitting at the top of the mountain. I heard that it is over 2m in height, so in snow season we are only able to touch its head.

We enjoyed tasty sake and food after skiing.
