Scuba diving in Kushimoto2009/09/21

Simmy
I've wanted to show you the fantastic sea of Kushimoto, so I tried hard to update.

I went scuba diving in Kushimoto after an interval of 10 years. I hadn't had a camera that time when I was a beginner diver, so this time was the first time I took underwater
photos in Kushimoto.

Don't you remember a story "SWIMMY" which was in a textbook of language in
elementary school when you look at this photo ? (^^)

These are micro fish which are very popular amongst divers.

Harlequin Shrimp
Harlequin Shrimp (FURISODE-EBI) look like they are wearing KIMONO with long, trailing sleeves.
Jawfish
Jawfish (AGO-AMADAI) always work very hard to build their houses.
Bicoclor Parrotfish (baby)
Bicolor Parrotfish (a baby of IRO-BUDAI), as a baby is very cute, but I recommend you
not to see its mother.
Speckled stingray
When I was called and turned around, a Speckled stingray (MADARA-EI) (2m class) was swimming toward me. I was really surprised and became nervous, but I took a photo
carefully. This was the biggest one we saw this time.
Giant frogfish
Giant frogfish, it is not good at swimming. Can you find the eyes and the mouth ?
Butterflyfish
Butterflyfish are simple and not such an interesting site, but when they make a school,
it is a good scenery.
The following Largescaled Black-fish (MEJINA) is well known to anglers.
Largescaled blackfish
a hawksbill turtle
This is a hawksbill turtle which is an endangered species. Japan had imported the shell
as a material of tortoiseshell work until 1993, even after the Washington Convention
(1973). We saw another 3 Green turtles in this dive.
If it was closes from Osaka to Kushimoto, I could go there more often. Except for the
long distance, the water was clear and warm (28℃), the sea was great.
